Plastic and glass bottles should be placed in your recycling bin empty and rinsed, with the lids removed.
Lids should be placed in your general waste bin as they are usually made of a different type of plastic and are too small to recycle through your kerbside bins.
It is also important to take lids off bottles as the bottle will want to retain its original shape once compressed and this may cause the bale of plastic to burst.
